Expansion continues with new appointment

The appointment of a new Sales Project Engineer is the latest step in Infotec’s medium and long-term strategies to expand by developing new products and services.

Expansion continues with new appointment

Customer information system (CIS) specialist Infotec is delighted to welcome Gail Hodgkins to the company as Sales Project Engineer.

Gail’s key responsibilities are to support pre-sales activities, providing product demonstrations and technical advice whilst working closely with respective technical teams to identify solutions for both existing and new customers.

She will work collaboratively with Infotec’s Engineering, Operations and Finance teams to help deliver projects on time and within budget, maintaining the high level of customer satisfaction for which Infotec is highly respected.

Having previously worked as a Project Manager at Vysiion, Gail brings experience of proactively planning and managing multiple projects in sectors including datacentres, telecoms, power utilities and public highways.

Dual language Text To Speech

In her first couple of weeks at Infotec Gail has started work on a Text To Speech (TTS) project for a client, designed to deliver an improved passenger experience. Infotec is sculpting the engine for scores of TTS devices across 173 stations to provide the best quality output in two completely different languages.

Continued growth at Infotec, which boasts more than 100 customers worldwide, has led to the decision to expand its team and new software engineers as well as support staff are also currently being recruited.

Commenting on her new role, Gail said: “I am excited to be working for Infotec and helping to make sure we continue to set the standard for passenger information solutions in sectors including rail, bus, tram, urban signage, roadside and airport applications.

“I have already been in contact with some of our customers to arrange meetings with them and look forward to being involved in some large projects in the very near future.”

Away from work, Gail is a keen Liverpool FC supporter and enjoys watching them on TV and at Anfield when she can manage to get tickets. She has a husband and two children who love camping holidays, so weather permitting they try to go as often as possible.

Her typical weekend consists of socialising with family and friends, and her Sunday tradition is a game of bingo with her dad!

Welcoming her to Infotec, Chief Operating officer Neil Scott says: “Everyone is delighted to have Gail join the team. She brings valuable project management skills and experience in solution-focussed customer care.

“Her appointment is the latest step in Infotec’s medium and long-term strategies to expand by developing new products and services, both in its traditional and new markets.”
