Hull image takes the prize

A picture of the new main concourse display at Hull station has been selected as the winner of Infotec’s May photography competition.

Taken by local resident Lloyd Jackson, it shows the bank of 42” TR42P displays designed and manufactured by Infotec and supplied as part of a huge order which is seeing new passenger information displays (PIDs) going to numerous TransPennine Express stations.

Commenting on his win, Lloyd said: “That has made my day! I used to work in York and used the station every day. I do still travel by train on a regular basis. The new displays with their high contrast are so easy to read.

“I’ve noticed the white LED displays too; I was surprised at how well you can read those, even in bright sunlight.”

Well done Lloyd, your £100 voucher is on its way.

The start of a new month sees the competition start again too and a chance for someone else to snap up a £100 voucher prize. To enter simply take a photograph of an Infotec display in action and post it on social media or email it to us.

Wherever you travel by train in the UK, you are highly likely to see passenger information displays designed and manufactured by Infotec.

There's literally thousands of them out there, helping people find their way and making it easier for train operating companies and station staff to manage passenger movement.

They can be found in bus stations, on-board trains and in retail premises too and as well as in the UK our displays also feature in overseas locations including Caracas (Venezuela), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Mexico City, New York and Vancouver.

To be sure a display is one of ours, look for Infotec on the back together with a serial number.

Mobile phone shots are fine but the higher the resolution and the sharper the focus the better.

We will use the photos on our social media platforms and will always get permission before doing so.
