Sweet taste of success
A table-full of show-stopping cakes created and donated by staff and partners at Infotec were on offer on Friday to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The delicious sweet treats included carrot cake, tiffin, lemon drizzle and cup cakes. Among those who made cakes were Financial Controller Adele Bonam, Jess Byers, partner of Unit 2 Supervisor Shaun Franklin, Gill Burge, wife of retired Stores Assistant Blake, and Agency Worker Andy’s Mum.
Best baker badge was awarded to Helen Lisney, wife of Component Purchasing & Stores Manager Rob. Helen baked a melt-in-the-mouth chocolate fudge cake.
The cake sale, organised by Sue Thompson HR Manager and Accounts and Office Administrator Viv Bray, was the focal point of the production department’s morning break, with staff from throughout the company and visitors all contributing to the eating and donating.
The effort made definitely paid off - the sale raised a total of £150, which Infotec’s Directors have agreed to double, generating a £300 donation to MacMillan.
Commenting, Sue Thompson said: “Everyone enjoyed the cake sale and all of those involved – the bakers, donators and buyers – deserves a thank you. This is a very worthy cause and it is wonderful that the Directors are doubling the amount raised by the stall.”
Infotec regularly supports good causes, with charity fun run sponsorship, food bank donations and a good cause raffle among its charitable activities during the last 12 months.
