The flexibility of Infotec's displays has helped Southeastern keep football fans updated.---
Passengers on Southeastern’s network while England play their all-important World Cup match tonight should be able to keep up with the score, thanks to the train operator’s use of its Infotec passenger information displays.
Southeastern is the key train services operator for commuter and regional services in South East London and Kent. Its trains run along three main routes including High Speed 1 from London St Pancras.
The majority of Southeastern stations have passenger information displays designed and manufactured by Ashby-based Infotec. Among their features is the ability for operators to change the text and visuals displayed, should they wish to do so.
Being able to make changes to individual or groups of Infotec’s displays is usually used by train operators to alert passengers to changes to or disruption of services, but Southeastern has been using it to keep travellers up to date with World Cup results.
They were praised and thanked by passengers on Saturday for posting the score on displays during England’s game against Sweden.

Photos of displays being used to provide match stats were also posted.
Commenting, Infotec’s Bids and Key Accounts Manager James Lisney said: “It’s great that the flexibility and real-time delivery of information by our displays is being used for this.
“Let’s hope Southeastern has more good news on display tonight!”
Shipment is underway of an order placed with Infotec Ltd. by Trak Com Wireless Inc. for on-vehicle displays to be used on the recently opened light rail system serving JFK Airport in New York, USA.
The experience of passenger information display specialist Infotec in providing solutions for heritage station buildings has proved useful for a contract at Newcastle Central Station.
The new Western concourse at London’s King’s Cross – which features a new customer information display supplied by Infotec - is now open for business, with thousands of passengers passing through every day.
